Red Sequel in the works
Old cast to return
If there is one thing we can take away from RED, it's that old people with machine guns look hilariously awesome. And that Helen Mirren still got it!
RED was a fantastically fun movie with the perfect cast to execute the exciting premise in what can be seen as a generic genre. Every single cast member is on form, the dialogue is great, and the actions scenes were awesome - particularly the fight between Karl Urban and Bruce Willis. It was surprisingly realistic! And Bruce Willis, an 80's icon, manages to remain in top shape and in doing so undermines my efforts in losing weight. As much as I hate him for that, he is another reminder that current generation are a bunch of man boys and that he is still one of the best action stars.
Immedialtely upon seeing RED I was looking forward to a sequel. And now producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura, who confirmed that a sequel to "Red" is in the works during the premiere of "Transformers: Dark of the Moon". Here is what he had to say:
We're trying to put it together. We just got a script and it's really good. We're all just now discussing how to put it all back together again.
Di Bonaventura says the plan is to bring back the same cast as well as add some new faces.
I think the audience would be disappointed if we didn't bring back the crew, but we've got to freshen the crew. We'll bring in one or two characters that'll play a really big part — maybe three, but definitely one or two.
You damn right we will be disappointed if they don't come back. but who could the new faces be?
Would you prefer other old icons or new rising stars?
