The Witcher 2 approaches 1m sales
According to Polish news site Parkiet, and as reported by the Warsaw Business Journal, CD Projekt recorded 940,000 sales of the game in the first half of 2011.
The original game, released in October 2007, sold over 1 million copies in its first year on sale -- a feat that the company claimed was especially impressive for a title based on an unfamiliar IP from an unknown studio.
CD Projekt Red (previously Optimus), producer of the record-breaking "The Witcher" and "The Witcher 2" computer games, reported a net profit of 20.4 million and generated 80.3 million PLN in revenue for the first half of 2011, Parkiet reported.
That's good going considering the game has so far only released on PC. An Xbox 360 version is in the pipeline but was recently delayed from this year into Q1 2012.
Apart from its work with video games, CD Projekt also publishes Disney movies for the Polish market, and is set to publish Polsat movies from this September.
